David Orazietti
David Orazietti, Work on Boards and Committees
David Orazietti has more than 30 years of experience working closely with education partners, including Algoma University, Sault College, Algoma District School Board and the Huron Superior Catholic District School Board. Additionally, David Orazietti has worked with the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research, Excellence and Security and the Ministry of Education. He has held governance and advisory roles involving municipal services, recreation, heritage, and community development in Sault Ste. Marie.
Moreover, Mr. Orazietti has experience working with provincial boards and legislative committees. During his time in the Ontario Legislative Assembly, he served on Treasury Board Management Board of Cabinet and the Cabinet Committee on Health, Education and Social Policy. He also served on the Cabinet Committee on Northern Ontario. Mr. Orazietti chaired the standing committee on general government, the standing committee on justice policy, and government caucus. He further served as vice chair of the standing committee on government agencies and as a member of the standing committee on finance and economic affairs.
Beyond his provincial committee responsibilities, Mr. Orazietti has served on several community boards and committees in Sault Ste. Marie. His board service includes the Sault Area Hospital Board of Directors and the Sault Ste. Marie Public Utilities Commission Board of Directors. His community committee work has included the parks and recreation committee, physician recruitment committee, memorial gardens redevelopment committee, and international relations committee. Before entering public service, Mr. Orazietti worked as an educator and department head with the Central Algoma Board of Education and the Algoma District School Board.
